CSearcher

Even if you’re an organized person who keeps a close eye on things, it is possible to misplace a file and then have a hard time trying to find it. It’s an annoying and frustrating situation, I know. But there is something you can do about it: get CSearcher. This free, non-indexing search program will help you find anything. Just tell it what to look for and it will find it.

CSearcher is available as an archive (.ZIP) and as a self-extracting archive (.EXE). No matter which one you download, getting started with CSearcher means that you’ll have to extract the archive’s contents and then run the CSearcher executable. You won’t have to install anything, you’ll simply have to get an archive, extract its contents, and run an executable.

CSearcher’s interface is made up of two panels. The one at the top features a variety of search patterns and filters. For CSearcher to locate that file you want to be found, you first have to tell it what to look for. So use this top panel to tell CSearcher where to look for and what to look for. Everything that CSearcher finds will be displayed on the panel at the bottom. If there are too many results, use the filters to narrow things down.

CSearcher can integrate with Windows Explorer, meaning that a "Search with CSearcher" option will show up in the right click context menu. Please note that this feature isn’t enable by default. To enable it, go to the Options menu and select Register in Windows Explorer.
